Rulequill Terms of Service

1. The service

Rulequill is a Google Sheets™ add-on that draws cell borders and group shading by rules. One border rule per sheet, with the value-change, text, number and empty/not-empty conditions, refreshed with the Refresh button, is free. Rulequill Pro is a one-time purchase through Gumroad that adds unlimited rules, automatic refresh, group banding and custom-formula conditions. Pro has no subscription and does not expire.

2. Your spreadsheets

Rulequill changes cell borders and, for group banding, cell fill colours in the ranges you give your rules. Inside a rule's range it may remove borders of the kind the rule draws when it repaints (for example after rows are inserted or sorted), and banding replaces the fill of the cells it shades. Google Sheets™ keeps version history (File > Version history) and Edit > Undo reverses most changes. Use Preview first and check important spreadsheets afterwards.

3. Automatic refresh

If you turn on automatic refresh, it runs under your Google account and counts toward the daily script limits Google sets for your account. Google may pause it if those limits are reached; Rulequill shows the last problem in the sidebar.

4. Payment and refunds

Gumroad handles payment. If Pro doesn't work for you, ask for a refund within 30 days and you will get it. A refunded, charged-back or disputed purchase ends Pro access. Please don't share or publish your license key.

5. No warranty; limit of liability

Rulequill is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Rulequill.

6. Changes

We may update these terms and will post changes on this page. Continuing to use Rulequill after a change means you accept it. Features you already bought stay included.

Google Sheets™ and Google Workspace™ are trademarks of Google LLC. Excel is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation. Rulequill is not affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
