Hourglass Family Tree

An hourglass family tree puts one couple at the center of the page. Their parents, grandparents and, if you like, great-grandparents fan out above them for both sides of the family, and their children and grandchildren branch out below.

Type your family into the included Hourglass Family Tree Maker and it lays out the whole tree and sizes it to fit the page. It runs offline in any web browser and nothing is uploaded. Or print a blank chart and write it by hand.

• Grandparents and a small family fit any size; great-grandparents or 30+ people need 11x17 or A3 and up
• One spouse or partner per person; accented names are fine
• Empty ancestor boxes print with a small label so you can fill them in by hand
