Iconquill Privacy Policy

Last updated October 19, 2026

Iconquill is a Google Slides and Google Docs add-on that searches open-licensed icon libraries and inserts the icon you pick as an image. It is published by Front Porch Puzzle Press ("we").

What Iconquill can access

Iconquill asks Google for the narrowest permissions that let it work:

• Only the presentation or document you're using it in (presentations.currentonly, documents.currentonly). Iconquill can't open your other files or your Google Drive.
• Showing its menu and sidebar (script.container.ui).
• Connecting to an outside service (script.external_request), used for exactly one thing: checking an Iconquill Pro license key with Gumroad.

Inside the open file, Iconquill only acts when you click Insert or Recolor: it inserts the icon image, sets its size and position, writes a short label in the image's alt text (for example iconquill:lucide/house/line) so the icon can be recolored later, and, for Recolor, reads the alt text of the images you selected. It never reads, copies or sends your slides' or document's text anywhere.

What Iconquill stores

Using Google's own per-user add-on storage (Apps Script User Properties), tied to your Google account:

• your last color and size choice (Pro),
• the names of icons you recently inserted and your favorite icons (Pro),
• your Pro license key and the date it was last checked, if you bought Pro.

We do not run our own servers or database, and we can't see any of this data.

Outside services

• jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) delivers the icon pictures. Your browser downloads each icon file directly from jsDelivr, the same way any web page loads an image, so jsDelivr receives your IP address and the name of the icon file. Nothing from your file is sent. See the jsDelivr privacy policy.
• Gumroad processes Pro purchases. When you activate Pro (and about every three days after), Iconquill sends your license key and our product ID to Gumroad's license API to confirm the subscription is active. Nothing from your file is sent. Payments happen on Gumroad's site under Gumroad's privacy policy.

What Iconquill never does

• No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or cookies of our own.
• No selling, renting or sharing of your data.
• No use of your data to train AI models.
• No access to your email, contacts, calendar or Drive.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Iconquill's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

Choose Remove license from this account in the sidebar, or uninstall Iconquill (Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons), and remove its access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Icons already inserted stay in your files as ordinary images until you delete them.

Children

Iconquill collects no personal information, so it is suitable for school Google Workspace accounts. Schools can install it for students through the Google Workspace admin console.
