Sortquill Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
Sortquill is a Google Docs add-on that sorts paragraphs and lists, shows a document outline and numbers headings. It has no servers and no user accounts of its own.
Google user data
Sortquill asks Google for access to only the document you're using it in (the
documents.currentonly scope), plus permission to show its menu and sidebar. It reads and rearranges
the paragraphs you ask it to sort, and reads your headings to show the outline. It cannot see any other document
or file. Everything happens inside Google Docs; Sortquill never copies your document's content anywhere.
Sortquill's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What Sortquill stores
Using Google's own add-on storage: your sort preferences, and, if you bought Sortquill Unlimited, your license key. For a document whose headings you numbered, a flag noting that, so numbers can be removed later.
Purchases
If you buy Sortquill Unlimited, the add-on sends your license key (and nothing from your document) to Gumroad, our payment provider, to confirm it is valid. Gumroad's privacy policy covers your purchase.
What Sortquill never does
No analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
