Specwisp Privacy Policy

Specwisp is a browser extension that shows the fonts, colors, spacing and CSS of elements on a web page. It has no servers and no user accounts.

What Specwisp reads

Nothing until you click its toolbar button (or press its shortcut) on a tab. Then, on that one tab only, it reads the styles of the elements you point at, and when you open the Colors, Fonts or Assets tab it reads the page's colors, fonts and image addresses. It does this on your computer to show them to you. It stops when you close it or leave the page.

What Specwisp stores

Only your Pro license key, if you buy one, in your browser's extension storage. It doesn't keep a history of the pages you inspect.

Where your data goes

Nowhere. Specwisp makes no network requests while you inspect, injects nothing into pages you haven't opened it on, and never looks up your IP address. The only request it makes is when you activate a Pro license: it sends the key to Gumroad (our payment provider) to confirm it is valid, and repeats that check about once a week. Gumroad's privacy policy covers your purchase. Anything you copy goes to your own clipboard.

What Specwisp never does

No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no donation or upgrade pop-ups on websites, no remote code, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
