Sumquill Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026. Sumquill is a Google Sheets™ add-on for statistics, optimization (Solver) and Goal Seek.
The short version
Sumquill does its work inside your spreadsheet. It does not collect, store, sell or share the contents of your spreadsheets. It has no servers of its own, no analytics and no advertising. The only information that ever leaves Google is a Sumquill Pro license key, sent to Gumroad to check that it's valid.

Information that is stored
- In your Google account (Apps Script user properties): your Sumquill Pro license key, its type (yearly or semester), its expiry date and when it was last checked. This lets Pro follow you between spreadsheets.
- In the spreadsheet (Apps Script document properties): the last Solver model you set up (cell references and options) and the values needed for "Restore original values" and Goal Seek "Undo". Anyone who can edit the spreadsheet and runs Sumquill can see the saved model, just as they can see the cells it refers to.
- Temporarily, in Google's script cache: the progress message shown while Solver runs, kept for at most 15 minutes.
- In your browser: the last analysis tool you picked, so the sidebar opens on it next time.
None of this is sent to the developer. Spreadsheet data you analyze is processed by Google Apps Script while the tool runs and the results are written back to your spreadsheet; nothing is kept anywhere else.
Gumroad (only if you buy Pro)
Purchases are handled by Gumroad, Inc., under Gumroad's privacy policy. When you activate or Sumquill re-checks a license (about every three days), the add-on sends Gumroad the license key and the Sumquill product ID, and Gumroad replies with whether the purchase is valid, refunded, or (for the yearly plan) still active. No spreadsheet content is sent. The developer can see your purchase in Gumroad's seller dashboard (name, email and order details you gave Gumroad), and uses it only to provide the product and answer support requests.
Google user data
Sumquill's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the features you use in the sidebar, is not transferred to anyone, is not used for advertising, and is not read by people.
Removing your data
- Pro tab → "Remove license from this account" deletes the stored license key.
- Uninstalling Sumquill (Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons) stops all access; you can also revoke it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Results written to your sheets are ordinary cells; delete them like any other.
Children
Sumquill is meant for students, teachers and professionals. It isn't directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
