Vellumpane Privacy Policy

Effective: October 19, 2026. Publisher: Front Porch Puzzle Press.

Vellumpane is a browser extension that lays a design image over a web page so you can compare the two. It has no servers and no user accounts.

What Vellumpane reads

Nothing on a page until you click its toolbar button (or press its shortcut) on that tab. It then adds its panel and your overlay images to that one tab. It doesn't read the page's text, forms or browsing history, and it can't see other tabs.

What Vellumpane stores

The design images you add, each layer's settings (position, opacity, scale, blend), guides, saved layer sets, the address of the page each layer belongs to, your shortcut choices and, if you buy Pro, your license key. All of it is kept in your browser's extension storage on your computer. Uninstalling Vellumpane, or using "Delete all saved layers" on its settings page, removes it.

Where your data goes

Nowhere. Your images and pages never leave your computer. The only network request Vellumpane makes is when you activate a Pro license: it sends the license key to Gumroad (our payment provider) to confirm it is valid, and repeats that check about once a week. Gumroad's privacy policy covers your purchase. An exported layers file goes wherever you save it.

What Vellumpane never does

No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no pop-ups, no remote code, and no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
