Betsy Ross Flag Ornament, 1776-2026 Ceramic

A keepsake Christmas ornament for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, 1776-2026: the Betsy Ross Flag, drawn from its documented historical design. Thirteen stripes and a circle of thirteen stars, one for each of the original states.

Congress's Flag Resolution of June 14, 1777 called for 13 stripes and 13 white stars on blue, but set no arrangement, so the circle is one of several period patterns. The story that Betsy Ross made the first flag was first made public by her grandson in 1870; historians treat it as a family tradition.
