Christmas 2026 and the 250th

A keepsake Christmas ornament for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, 1776-2026: the Gadsden Flag, a naval standard of the winter of 1775-76, with its coiled rattlesnake on a yellow field.

Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina gave the design to Commodore Esek Hopkins of the new Continental Navy in December 1775. No original survives, and the snake here is our own drawing of the description. The flag is on the front and its story is on the back.

Around it: "250th Anniversary of the American Revolution" and 1776 - 2026
