Chimelark: live timers for Google Slides™
Type <<5:00->> on a slide, start the slideshow, and it becomes a live countdown that rings at zero. Decks that already use these tags keep working.
What it does
- Countdowns, stopwatches, clocks and dates from tags like
<<5:00->>,<<0:00+>>,<<time>>and<<longdate>>. - Go to the next slide at zero with
<<3:00-+>>, keep a timer running across slides with~, start paused with$. - Tags in the speaker notes: students see the timer in a corner, never the tag.
- Keys: Y pauses and resumes, R resets. Extended time runs every countdown 1.25×, 1.5× or 2× as long, for testing accommodations.
- Pro: several timers on one slide, fonts, colors and highlights, more sounds or your own, progress bars and pomodoro cycles.
How it works
- Add Chimelark to Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- In Google Slides, type a tag on a slide or in its speaker notes.
- Click Slideshow. The tag turns into a timer.
The free Chimelark add-on for Google Slides can insert tags for you and check every tag in a deck.
Free and Pro
Free covers one running timer per slide, unlimited clocks and dates, every tag, the keys and extended time, with no time limit. Chimelark Pro is $9, paid once. There's no subscription.
Private by design
Chimelark runs only on Google Slides pages. It doesn't ask for your browsing history, your tabs, your email address or a sign-in, and it has no servers: your slides never leave your computer. The only outside request is checking a Pro license key with Gumroad, and only after you activate one. Read the privacy policy and terms.
