Free Puzzles for Your Senior Center Newsletter
If you put together a newsletter for a senior center, library, church or retiree group, you know the challenge: filling the pages every month with something people actually look forward to. A puzzle is one of the most-read parts of any newsletter. Many readers turn to it first, and some save the page to finish later.
Free puzzles for every issue
Front Porch Puzzle Press provides large print puzzles to newsletters at no charge. Each issue we send ready-to-print images sized to your layout, matched to the season, with answers:
- Full page: a themed large print word search with a word list
- Half page: word scrambles with hints, or a mini word search
- Small fillers: "Remember When?" trivia and short scrambles for odd spaces
- Answer keys as separate images, to run in the same issue or the next
Everything is set at 16 point or larger, in high-contrast black and white so it photocopies cleanly. All we ask is a small credit line, already printed on each image. Our puzzles are featured in the City of New Haven’s senior newsletter starting January 2027.
How it works
- Email hello@frontporchpuzzlepress.com with your newsletter's name, how often it goes out, and your next deadline.
- Tell us how much space you usually have (full page, half page, or a small filler) and whether it is printed, emailed or both.
- We send the puzzles as print-ready images before each deadline.
Tips for a puzzle section people love
- Run the puzzle in the same spot every issue so readers know where to find it.
- Print the answers on a different page, or in the next issue, to keep it fun.
- Choose seasonal themes: holidays, gardening, baseball, "remember when" topics. Our senior newsletter ideas guide lists themes and columns for every month.
- Keep it large: older readers skip puzzles they cannot read comfortably.
You can also reprint any puzzle from our free pages, such as the Christmas word search or trivia for seniors, in a free community newsletter, as long as the credit line stays on the page.
