Trivia for Seniors: Free Printable Questions

Forty easy trivia questions for seniors in three printable sets: general knowledge, Remember When (the '50s and '60s) and holidays and seasons. Large print, with answers.

Good trivia for seniors is easy enough that everyone gets some right, interesting enough to start a story, and accurate. These three sets were written with that in mind. Every question has three choices, every answer is on the last page of its set, and every fact was checked against published sources before printing.

Easy General Trivia (15 questions) covers geography, nature, music and everyday knowledge. Remember When: the '50s and '60s (15 questions) brings back Lucy and Ricky, the hula hoop, the Edsel and John Glenn. Holidays and Seasons (10 questions) jumps around the calendar from the Easter Egg Roll to jack-o'-lanterns.

How activity directors use it

Trivia is one of the easiest group activities to lead. Seat people in small teams, read each question and all three choices twice, and give the room a moment before revealing the answer. A set of 15 questions fills about 30 minutes once the stories start. For men's groups and veterans' coffee hours, the Remember When set is a reliable favorite.

Adapt as you go: drop to two choices for residents who find three hard to hold in mind, accept close answers, and never single anyone out. Celebrate good guesses as much as right answers.

Printing and sharing

Printing tip: when the print window opens, choose Actual size or 100% so the letters print as large as they were made (every letter is at least 16 point). Make as many copies as you need for your family, residents or group.

Newsletter editors: you are welcome to reprint these puzzles in a free senior center, library, church or community newsletter, as long as the credit line at the foot of the page stays on. Please don't sell them or post the PDF files elsewhere; link to this page instead. Want puzzles sized for your layout every issue? See free puzzles for your newsletter.
